Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Serves as a Team Lead in the design and implementation of embedded software architecture for radar/equipment monitoring and control.
- Serves in a Team Lead role, providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership.
- Evaluates embedded software/firmware/hardware (FPGAs, etc.) and design.
- Codes, debugs, and tests system software.
- Performs embedded software and multi-platform software implementation.
- Provides technical support for data communication/acquisition/control systems and experiments.
- Provides consulting to system-level designs, including costing, lead times, and alternative solutions.
- May supervise staff.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.
Experience:
Required: 60 months of embedded software experience.
Certifications or Licenses:
- None
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
- Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Willingness to work as an integral part of a high-energy team of engineers and scientists
- Strong desire to learn new technical skills
