The following statements are designed to outline the general functions and typical responsibility levels associated with positions in this classification. Responsible for linking together computing systems and software applications physically and functionally using computer networking, application integration, business process management and/or manual programming.
- Responsible for creating a unified, functioning system by selecting instruments and control components to determine the specific mix of output, function, interconnection, program storage, controls, and user interfaces required for specific projects.
- Integrates enterprise computer applications by using software and computer systems architectural principles. Oversees the integration platform of architecture, design concepts and changes, and engineering.
- Prioritizes maintenance and support and break/fix requests and incident management including inefficiencies, e.g., identical data stored in multiple locations, straightforward processes are unable to be automated. Troubleshoots integration and interoperability issues.
- Provides technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of the system.
- Responsible for time estimation and prioritization of system integrations. Informs management of any problems or discrepancies. Ensures the system integration meets stakeholder expectations of quality and timeliness of delivery with a low rate of incidents and problems with integration requirements, design, and development processes. Monitors system operation to detect potential problems.
- Estimates costs, resources, and project planning. Updates management and other stakeholders.
- Ensures documentation for integration systems is complete and current, to include but not limited to design specifications, installation instructions, and other system related information.
- Collaborates with engineers and vendors to select appropriate design solutions or ensures the compatibility of systems components.
- Assimilates new technologies compliant with industry data security standards. Provides guidelines for implementing secure systems to stakeholders and installation team.
- Communicates to management and other stakeholders any integration requests, opportunities, and/or project statuses.
- May apply systems integration and safety engineering principles in research or operational environments
- Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 60 months related experience.
Experience:
Required: 12 months experience in systems integrationor a related technical field.
