Provides assessment and treatment of children with behavioral or mental health concerns including psychological or behavioral problems. This position may work in a specialty clinic for specific behavioral health concerns, such as, assessment and intervention for infants and young children with prenatal exposure to alcohol and other drugs; and assessment of children with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders, and services for trauma and problematic sexual behaviors.     

• Provides evaluations and assessments for children referred for behavioral/mental health problems, psychological concerns, disabilities, medical conditions, and/or trauma.
• Provides individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and their caregivers.
• Provides support for access to other services and case management.
• Prepares reports stating findings, recommendations, etc.
• Responsible for taking referral and scheduling intake assessments.
• Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
• Depending on the specialty clinic, may assess and intervene with infants and young children with prenatal exposure to alcohol and drugs, or children with developmental disabilities, autism, trauma, or problematic sexual behavior.

Education:

Required: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.  

Experience:

Required: No experience required but must have completed counseling/clinical training in their graduate training program.

Certifications or Licenses:

• CPR certification or completion within 6 months of hire

• Psychotherapy and consultation skills for children with behavior problems, psychological or behavioral health symptoms, or previous experiences of trauma.
• Psychological assessment experience with infants, children, and adolescents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate, problem solve, engage, and support decisions in order to make patients and families aware of the treatment.
• Ability to understand how children of different ages and developmental stages express their thoughts, emotions, and fears.
• Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Knowledge of working directly with families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to listen to the patient.
• Must have organization skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with coworkers.
