Job Duties:
Pawsitive Indulgence is seeking friendly, dependable students to join our PRN event team for larger markets, festivals, holiday shows, and special events.
This is an as-needed position, not a regularly scheduled weekly job. Our next anticipated staffing needs begin approximately October 22–25, followed by additional larger events in November and December. This is ideal for students who want occasional paid work that can fit around classes.
Event Brand Ambassadors represent Pawsitive Indulgence directly to customers and help create a welcoming, professional shopping experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist with booth setup and breakdown, including unpacking, arranging displays, and repacking merchandise.
• Welcome customers and engage them in a friendly, professional manner.
• Learn Pawsitive Indulgence products and confidently answer basic customer questions.
• Assist customers with product selection and purchases.
• Operate our point-of-sale/payment system after training.
• Restock and organize merchandise throughout the event.
• Keep displays attractive, organized, and customer-ready.
• Monitor merchandise and assist with loss prevention during busy events.
• Assist with event-related problems as needed.
• Represent Pawsitive Indulgence professionally and enthusiastically.
Event schedules are established by the company based on staffing needs. Employees are expected to work assigned events and the complete scheduled shift, including required setup and/or breakdown. This is not a position in which employees select only the events or shifts they wish to work. Established college class meeting times will be accommodated, but applicants must otherwise have the flexibility and availability required for the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in college. Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers. Reliable transportation to event locations throughout the Oklahoma City metro area and surrounding communities is required.
Schedule flexibility and dependable attendance are essential requirements of this position. Applicants must be available to work assigned events based on company staffing needs, including evenings, weekends, university breaks, and holidays when needed. Established college class meeting times will be accommodated; however, homework, studying, extracurricular activities, and personal or social plans must be managed around scheduled work responsibilities.
Must be comfortable working independently after training, handling customer transactions, and working around dogs and other animals. Must be able to remain professional, friendly, and engaged with customers throughout the entire event.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service, hospitality, festivals, markets, or other event-based work is preferred but not required. Experience with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, merchandising, or product displays is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently engage customers are highly desirable. Interest in pets, pet products, small business, or retail is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants with strong availability during evenings, weekends, university breaks, and the fall/holiday event season.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including throughout multi-hour events. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and assist with booth setup and breakdown. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, including boxes of merchandise, displays, tables, and event supplies. Must be able to load, unload, unpack, arrange, and repack merchandise. Some events may be outdoors and require working in varying weather conditions.
Additional Comments:
PLEASE NOTE: This is a PRN/as-needed position and does not provide regular or guaranteed weekly hours. Our primary staffing needs occur during larger fall and holiday events, with the next anticipated need approximately October 22–25, followed by additional events in November and December.
Although the position offers flexibility around an established college class schedule, this is not a choose-your-own-shifts position. Event staffing is determined by company needs, and employees are expected to be available for assigned events, including evenings, weekends, university breaks, and holidays when needed.
This position is best suited for a student seeking occasional additional income who has a flexible schedule, enjoys working with people, and can be counted on when scheduled. Event dates are generally known well in advance, allowing time to plan schoolwork and personal activities accordingly.
