Project-Based, Flexible Hours – Work will be scheduled based on availability but must adhere to agreed-upon deadlines. Immediate Start Preferred – The design needs to be completed as soon as possible. Estimated Timeframe: The project is expected to be completed within two weeks, with flexibility for minor revisions as needed. On-Site & Remote Work: The role will require at least one on-site visit for assessments and measurements, with the majority of the design work being done remotely. Milestone-Based Deliverables: A structured timeline with key deliverables, including concept sketches, revisions, and final design approval, will be established upon hiring. Potential for Future Collaboration: While this is a one-time project, there may be opportunities for additional landscape enhancements or consulting in the future.

Job Duties:
Develop a comprehensive landscape design that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for an event center.
Strategically plan seating areas, game zones, fire pits, and other key features to maximize space and guest experience.
Produce concept sketches and renderings that visually communicate the layout and design vision.
Incorporate owner’s vision and budget considerations into the design while ensuring optimal flow and usability.
Prepare and finalize the design plan, making revisions as needed based on feedback.
Adjust and refine the layout to ensure the final design aligns with project goals and enhances the overall atmosphere of the venue.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in landscape architecture, urban planning, interior design, event design, or a related field. Prior experience with landscape or event space planning (academic projects, freelance work, or internships are acceptable). Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other relevant tools. Ability to create concept sketches, renderings, and layout plans. Strong spatial planning skills to ensure functional and visually appealing design. Project & Communication Skills: Ability to interpret client vision and translate it into a tangible design. Strong attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback into revisions. Excellent time management to complete the project within the agreed timeframe. Preferred but Not Required: Experience in event space design or outdoor venue planning. Familiarity with budget-conscious design approaches.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design, Event Design, or a related field. Previous experience designing outdoor event spaces, hospitality venues, or recreational areas. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Revit, or other 3D modeling/rendering software. Ability to create high-quality visual presentations (3D renderings, mood boards, or VR walkthroughs). Familiarity with ADA compliance and accessibility considerations for public spaces. Design & Planning Expertise: Experience in space optimization for guest flow, seating arrangements, and multi-use areas. Understanding of lighting, pathways, and ambiance to enhance the event experience. Knowledge of budget-friendly design strategies without compromising aesthetics. Soft Skills & Project Management: Ability to work independently while incorporating client feedback effectively. Strong problem-solving skills to adjust plans based on site conditions or budget constraints. Prior experience working with contractors, vendors, or event planners (a plus).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to conduct on-site assessments, including walking, standing, and moving around outdoor spaces for extended periods. Capable of taking measurements, sketching layouts, and evaluating site conditions. Ability to lift and carry design materials, presentation boards, or small equipment (up to 25 lbs, if applicable). Comfortable working in various weather conditions if site visits are required. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on design software and rendering projects.
