Job Duties:
BASIC FUNCTION
The Marketing Specialist executes and/or assists others in the implementation of marketing strategies and objectives for mid‐level and recurring marketing campaigns, projects and programs for specific products, services, and business units at the credit union.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
1) Conceptualizes, researches, coordinates and develops mid‐level and ongoing marketing/advertising campaigns and/or action plans for specific products and/or services using data to target various age demographics and target markets while ensuring initiatives are results‐driven, accomplish corporate goals, and align with the credit union’s brand strategy and voice. Creates the design and publication of a wide variety of small to complex mid-scale artwork, including print, digital, and animated graphics. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.
( 2) Ensures a successful, on‐time, within budget and on‐strategy execution (i.e. aligns with corporate goals, the credit union’s brand strategy and voice) of marketing action plans, campaigns, projects and/or programs: objectives, strategies and tactics are all fully integrated into programs and materials (i.e. print, outdoor advertising, radio, TV, merchandising, website, digital ads, emails, etc.), timelines are developed and managed, budgets are developed and reconciled, metrics are established and met, and tracking is in place to ensure initiatives are results‐driven.
3) Writes high‐impacting, brand‐compelling, and differentiated content for marketing and communication‐related materials, such as, but not limited to, ads, direct mail/email, web content, brochures, flyers, point‐of‐sale merchandising, member testimonials, etc. and collaborates in the design and development of produced pieces/campaigns.
4) Other duties as assigned, such as – but not limited to – managing brochures, member testimonials, and premium items, and assisting other team members with coordination of campaigns and events.
CRITICAL RESULTS
1) Goals and objectives assigned to the Marketing Specialist for products, services, relationships per member, and specific market goals are achieved.
2) Budgets are effectively managed and measurement systems are in place and used to quantify the overall return on investment for credit union marketing programs and initiatives that are under the Marketing Specialist’s supervision.
3) Key projects, priorities, and goals are executed in a timely, efficient and productive manner while adhering to department and organizational‐established processes and procedures.
4) The integrity of the credit union brand is effectively communicated internally and among desired target audiences consistently.
5) Marketing content is brand relevant, timely, accurate and effective.
6) A high standard of service to internal and external stakeholders is consistently met.
7) Effectively utilizes available technology to enhance and maximize campaign and project results.
8) All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.
9) Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:
1) At least a Bachelor’s (BA/BS) Degree in Marketing or Advertising and three years of on the job experience; or, 8 years of equivalent experience with technical expertise in the following disciplines: marketing, communication, advertising, promotion, branding, member/market research, digital marketing, using data for marketing, project management, and copywriting.
2) Has a broad marketing background with experience across multiple disciplines and channels (i.e., advertising, media, online/digital, direct, social media) specifically in direct‐to‐customer.
3) Demonstrates a history of successfully executing multiple mid‐level marketing campaigns and programs with measurable return on results and can demonstrate project, process, and vendor management that led to those results. Prepress and print production experience.
4) Strong experience using the following software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat and CRM software.
5) Demonstrates the ability to thrive and succeed in a dynamic and fast‐paced, and high‐energy environment: can manage multiple campaigns, events and/or projects while consistently ensuring the credit union’s brand integrity while working with multiple and shifting priorities, which sometimes can be conflicting.
6) Have superior organization skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment as a proven team contributor with minimal supervision.
7) Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and multi‐task with minimal supervision, while effectively identifying, organizing and prioritizing multiple projects.
8) Appropriately responds to constructive feedback.
